Purpose of the Position:
The Assistant for Youth Ministry supports the Associate Pastor for Congregational Life
by leading activities that provide resources and care to form faith for the youth of Grace
Baptist Church.
Essential Functions:
¨ Support the Associate Pastor in fulfilling vision for ministry to youth and their
families at Grace Baptist Church
¨ Develop theologically appropriate curriculum and activities for youth

Discipleship/Spiritual Formation

teaching schedule for youth, and participate in teaching periodically.
¨ Collaborate with Associate Pastor and Youth Commission to select/design
theologically appropriate agenda and activities for a youth retreat, and provide
oversight for the planning of the retreat.
¨ Lead a weekly youth group meeting during the school year which throughout the
month includes opportunities for relationship building, bible study/discussion,
prayer, missions, and fellowship. A typical meeting may last an hour and a half
and include a meal.
Mission and Service
¨ In collaboration with Associate pastor, plan, promote, and lead ecumenical,
denominational or other service and camp opportunities for youth, which may
require overnight and travel commitments.
¨ Work with staff and Mission Commission to identify and plan annual mission
opportunities for youth and families.
¨ Participate in planning and implementation of fundraisers for youth camp and
missional activities
¨ Regularly attend worship services and participate on occasion
¨ Celebrate with youth and their families during major rites of passage
¨ Create informal worship and gatherings: stretching to meet the needs of nontraditional
faith formation and spiritual practice that is inherent in being gathered
together, reflecting, and sharing.
¨ Uphold Child Protection Policy of the church and hold annual review of the policy.
Run background checks on all volunteers and staff as needed.
¨ Attend weekly staff meeting and supervision with the associate pastor and pastor
as needed.
¨ Adhere to all financial policies and procedures.
¨ Communicate effectively and regularly, with youth and their families and partner
with Ministries Assistant to promote and publicize youth events and opportunities.
¨ Attend and participate in regular Youth Commission meetings in conjunction with

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hanover is seeking a Part-Time Organist/ Music Director

 A part-time, contracted combined role of Organist/Music Director (“Director”) for one Sunday service per week, beginning summer 2019.  Additional required services on Christmas Eve (2), Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter morning (2), and the evening before Thanksgiving. Director will be responsible for partnering with the Rector in mission and ministry to lead and develop the music program of the parish. Primary obligations include making music selections (in collaboration with the Rector), all worship accompaniment, leading the congregation in the musical elements of worship, and leading one adult choir September – June, including coordinating and conducting their rehearsals. Current choir rehearsals are on Sundays. St. Paul’s is a rural, active, family parish, averaging 100 congregants in attendance each week, with 75 at the main service, and room for a choir of 15. Organ is a two-manual Allen; piano in parish hall available for rehearsal. In addition to existing choral library, resources include Episcopal Hymnal (1982); Wonder, Love, and Praise; and Lift Every Voice and Sing II. Ideal candidates should be familiar with Episcopal liturgical tradition, comfortable with various liturgical styles, and open to adapting to fit the needs of the congregation. Experience with both the organ and directing an adult choir preferred. Compensation range begins at $15,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Contract allots 8-10 hours per week, with 4 Sundays of paid vacation. Budget for music, supplies, and continuing education is negotiable. St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hanover is seeking a Part-Time Youth Minister

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church seeks to call a part-time Youth Minister with a firm commitment to Jesus Christ and understanding of the historic teachings of the Church.  Candidates for the position should have a heart for working with youth in middle school and high school and the ability to work with younger children, as well.  The Youth Minister’s primary ministry area will be for the Youth Group consisting of middle schoolers and high schoolers, with additional responsibilities for some children’s programs.  The Youth Minister will collaborate with the Rector, Youth Group leaders and head of the Sunday School to provide meaningful Christian youth and children’s programs.  The Youth Minister reports to the Rector.


Specific Duties

  • Plan programing for and lead the Youth Group on Sunday mornings, twice a month.

  • Teach youth confirmation class with help from the Rector and lay leaders, once a month.
  • Plan and lead special Sunday School program or children’s chapel, once a month.

  • Plan and lead program for children at Parish Retreat Weekend in October.
  • Help lay leaders plan and lead Vacation Bible School in June.
  • Preaching children’s sermons (negotiable).
  • Participating in youth mission trip (negotiable).


Times of Work and Leave

The Youth Minister position is a ten month position (September - June).  The Youth Minister is not expected to work more than 40 hours in a month including planning and preparation.  Though there will be seasonal variation in work time.  The Youth Minister’s hours of work are Sundays from 9 AM to Noon.  This includes participating in public worship.  In addition, the Youth Minister will be expected to work on days other than Sunday to accomplish the duties listed above.



The Youth Minister will receive a monthly stipend of $800, September - June.
