It is once again time for the annual emphasis on the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions! The theme this year is "Say Yes". Since 1976, the Alma Hunt Offering has been a joint venture of Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia (WMUV) and the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV). These gifts provide funding for 100% of WMUV missions and ministries.

Through your gifts, this year WMUV was able to send a Human Trafficking mission team to Romania and an ESL mission team to Korea. In July, over 200 volunteers returned to Standing Rock Indian Reservation for a ninth year! They led Bible Schools, distributed socks, shoes and underwear and served thousands of meals to families on the reservation. Currently, we have a mission team in Ghana presenting a Women's Leadership Conference to 150 African women.   Hundreds of children and teens attended summer camp at our CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center for a week of worship, Bible study, missions and fun.

The Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions enables WMUV is to support many different and varied missions projects and activities. We have two HOPE Teams that raise awareness and help mobilize the church in a missional response to human trafficking and mental health issues.

WMUV sponsors Missions Events for all ages - Women's Get-Away, Shine and Mom and Me. We remain committed to our focus on missions education for all ages - GAs, RAs, CIAs, Acteens, Challengers, myMission, Sisters Who Care, Women and Adults on Mission.

The emphasis dates for the offering is September 18-24, 2017. The Alma Hunt promotional materials have already been mailed to our churches and associations. The orders for DVDs have been sent to those who requested them.  If you need additional items, you can email your request to wmuv@wmuv.org or call 800-255-2428, ext. 8267.  Also, if you need a speaker for the Alma Hunt emphasis, there is a speaker's list on the almahunt.org website or you may call our office at this extension, 8266.  For more information and resources go to www.almahunt.org. We ask for both your prayers and support for the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions. We cannot do it without you - "Say Yes"!
