For children and youth who have completed grades 4–9,
a special track (limited enrollment) for those who have completed grades 10-12,
and camp internship positions available for college students!

The Virginia Baptist Music and Worship Arts Camp is designed for those children and youth who have completed grades 4 – 12. The camp is divided into 3 different tracks:

  1. The Alpha Track is designed for those who have completed grades 4 – 6.
  2. The Omega Track is targeted for those who have completed grades 6 – 9. Churches with campers who have completed grade 6 may choose which camp track they will attend.
  3. The Delta Track is for campers who have completed grades 10 – 12. (This track fills up quickly! Please register early!) Delta campers are limited in number and must submit an application (available from the Worship and Church Music Ministries Office) and be accepted in order to attend. NEW Delta campers need to be nominated by two of the following: Pastor, Minister of Music/Music Director, Youth Minister/Youth Director, or Sunday School Teacher. To nominate a student, please submit the nomination form (coming soon). Once the two nominations and application form are received and reviewed, campers will be notified if they have been accepted and may register for the camp.

The camp consists of worship times and special interest classes, as well as participation in a choral and/or instrumental ensemble. Each afternoon also contains free time to enjoy the Eagle Eyrie pool and facilities as well as opportunities to meet new friends.

This is a music camp and those who do not enjoy musical activities should find a camp that is more geared to their interests. Past classes have included handbells, banners, audio technology, photography, drama, worship art, puppets, guitar, African drumming, piano, interpretive movement, stomp, sketching, and lyric writing among others.

We are an autonomous professional organization for secretaries,  administrative assistants, and ministry assistants — full time, part time or volunteers — in local churches, in denomination and association offices and agencies in Virginia, as well as those retired from such positions.

Founded in 1987 as the Virginia Baptist Secretaries Association, the organization changed its name to Baptist Ministry Assistants of Virginia in 2002 to reflect the diversity of its members and their job descriptions in their ministries.

BMAV’s purposes are:

· to encourage individual spiritual growth and maturity

· to promote professional excellence and encourage improvement of individual performance

· to offer opportunities for continuing education and spiritual enrichment

· to develop a greater understanding of the church’s mission and the ministry assistant’s part in that mission

· to work cooperatively with other Baptist churches and entities in Virginia.
