In the March 2017 “Transformed!” I shared in my “Musings from Mike” article several items from the RCFN Resource Lending Library that are intended to help our affiliated churches and their people by providing excellent training materials.  Training materials can be very costly and are often used and then laid aside with little future return for the purchaser.  We provide a number of CD-based training sets that can be used at no cost and then returned for others to utilize corporately or individually.  Call me or Danette Moen at 329-1701 if you would like to borrow any of these resources:

¨ “5 Love Languages” by Dr. Gary Chapman

¨ “I Will” by Dr. Thom S. Rainer

¨Nancy Alcorn, president and founder of Mercy Ministries International, a free, faith-based residential facility for troubled young women.

Her 5 CD series entitled “Ditch the Baggage, Change Your Life” contains Nancy’s practical teaching that shows you how to walk in freedom, no matter what you have been through or what issues you have faced in your past.  You can redefine your life and release thoughts, feelings, and habits that have dragged you down. Then you will begin to live life as it is supposed to be lived in Christ.

Her teaching offers great commuter listening material!  “Ditch the Baggage, Change Your Life” exposes seven keys to lasting freedom:

1. Committing fully to Christ

2. Choosing to forgive

3. Renewing your mind

4. Breaking generational patterns

5. Healing life’s hurts

6. Conquering oppression

7. Learning principles of lifelong success

The structure of the Network will become increasingly streamlined through the implementation of a rotating Board of Directors that will provide governance between Annual Meetings of the Network.  The Board will work in conjunction with the Executive Director who will lead the Network in casting vision and overseeing day-to-day Network operations.  The Board of Directors is designed to function in lieu of a more common and more unwieldly structure of Administrative and Executive Councils.

The new structure will include five specialized Support Teams, each of which will focus upon one of the three Community Centers, Camp Alkulana and our partnership known as Central Virginia Baptist Ministries (C.V.B.M.) with sister Associations  to provide specific support, encouragement, counsel, and communication to and from the centers, camp and Associations  to which they relate.  A general Missions Support Team will relate to all Network ministry efforts so that no one center nor the camp become isolated only to a small Support Team.

Six Standng Committees will deal with endowment, facilities, affiliation, ministry placement, personnel and stewardship matters throughout the year.  Each Standing Committee Chair will be seated on the Board of Directors along with the WMU Director, Support Group Chairs, four Network officers and eligible members-at-large from CORE and CHAMPION churches along with careful sensitivity to CONNECTOR organizations.

We look forward to honoring, in this new structure, the passion and strong commitment of churches and like-spirited organizations who desire to fully invest in the calling that God has placed upon us to minister to the underserved of the metropolitan Richmond area delivering the living water of Christ to a thirsty people!
