Global Religious Liberty is the theme of Virginia Baptist Historical Society's Annual Meeting June 7th
The 2018 Annual Meeting of VBHS will be held Thursday, June 7th, at 7:30 pm, at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond. This year, we welcome as our keynote speaker Dr. Elijah Brown, General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, a network representing 47 million Baptists in 124 countries and territories. Dr. Brown is the ninth General Secretary of the BWA and the youngest to hold the position. His passion for justice has led him to conduct research among displaced camps in Africa and the Middle East, testify before the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the U.S. Congress, and speak around the world. Join us as we reflect upon the Baptist contribution to global religious liberty and human rights and share updates on the work of the Society. The program is open to the public. Location: Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Rd, Richmond, VA 23235.
Rich in Baptist heritage, our churches unite to serve the underserved through camp and ministry centers that create a sense of community, increase self-esteem, and that restore, heal, and reconcile persons to God and to each other.
